Deaf Spirit Theatre is a Deaf-led company, founded in 2015, by Elizabeth Morris, Hayley Hudson. They are residing in Kingston, Ontario. They created and performed a variety of shows each year that are fully in American Sign Language (ASL) with ASL-English interpreters’ voice-over. Their show is an Inclusive and Accessible show for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Hearing audiences.
This show is a fully visual kind of show that is a combination of comedy skit, ABC storytelling, ASL storytelling, Children’s stories, De’Via (it is Deaf View/Image Art that represents Deaf experience and Deaf culture, Visual Vernacular (a visual storytelling art form by Deaf Actors, using ASL and mime technique, to create an expressive performance), ASL Shakespeare Monologue, ASL signing music, dancing, including Multi-Media.
